Hi! I've kept my 2009 printer going FOR YEARS with no issues until iOS 27.0.1 update. Now I cannot use my HP Laserjet P1005. It's in stellar shape (even have a replacement cartridge for it) and I can use with my old laptop (kinda why I kept it around for reverse compatibility).
Please tell me that there will be an update to the driver and/or a fix so that I may use my primary laptop to print rather than having to airdrop docs to myself to use my "Old" laptop!
New MacBook Air is running iOS 27.0.1 Golden Gate, M2 chip
Printer label: product no. CB410A, s/n VND3524822
Any help is appreciated!

My upgrade to OS X 27 Golden Gate broke printing with error messages saying the hardware was incompatible. HP Laserjet 1022. Very simple fix as suggested by this YouTube video:

Just run "softwareupdate --install-rosetta" in terminal and restart your Mac, and that's it! Worked for me. I had my driver working on OS X 26, so a simple rosetta update was all that was required.

Hello @Gridkot, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
We certainly understand your frustration. The HP LaserJet P1005 has been a remarkably durable printer, and it's impressive that it has continued serving you reliably for many years.
According to the HP LaserJet P1005 Printer Specifications & Accessories page, the printer supports USB connectivity only and does not include built-in Wi‑Fi or wireless networking capabilities. Therefore, the printer must be connected directly to the computer using a USB connection.
You can review the product specifications here:
HP LaserJet P1005 Printer - Specifications & Accessories
https://support.hp.com/lt-en/product/product-specs/hp-laserjet-p1005-printer/3435674
The specifications also indicate support for Mac OS X v10.2 and later. However, as the printer is a legacy product, compatibility with the latest macOS releases depends on the availability of supported drivers and printing frameworks for newer Apple operating systems.
Have a great day!
I'm an HP Employee.
