HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi,

I have an error on my printer screen that I am unable to solve. I previewed old posts and none has a solution so far so I am stuck. I've tried restarting the printer, wire connections, wireless connections but nothing works.

The buttons on the screen does not allow me to navigate away from the error message and no computer, tablet, or phone can see the printer as online. The printer now is completed unusable and I have no idea what to do. Any help is appreciated.

@HawaiiVic, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the printer is stuck on the error screen. A factory reset is not possible in this scenario.

Reset the printer (Skip if tried)

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

If this does not help, unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer and check.

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure.

The solution doesn’t work. I called in and they stated plug and unplug the printer as the remedy.

For those with the same issue out of warranty, the solution offered by HP is “sorry the printer can’t receive the update to fix the issue, your solution is to buy a new one.”
