My 7740 printer just installed new firmware, and now my compatible but not HP cartridges are reported having errors.

Have done reset, plugged all cartridge out and in, replaced Cyan with HP 953XL Cyan, and now this is not complaining, but all others are.

Is this a mean 'we only allow HP branded cartridges" or does anyone have a workaround.

 

Cartridges have worked without any issues for weeks.

Frustrated and angry.

Please help, thank you

Unfortunately if I go to the referenced web page, find my 7740 printer and install the firmware package I get stopped by the update program (correctly) identifying that I have the latest firmware, so I cannot install anything 😞

 

Any advise, please 🙂

It is even in the software mentioning that the "Printer protection" thingy is deactivated, so why is it so angry?

Unfortunately no HP support is available in Denmark, but I'll try to contact the repair centers (not HP but outsourced to some other companies).

 

Sad story so far - firmware update = so far no printer for almost a month 😞

 

Review will reflect 😞

 

Can you provide any guidelines on how to reinstall the previous firmware???
