HP Officejet Pro 9025e
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a new HP Officejet Pro 9025e, Windows 7, setup is complete, prints good.  I live in central Florida where thunderstorms and lightning can ruin my precious gizmos and gadgets.  Also FPL, also known as Florida Flash & Flicker, will thump the 'tricity on and off without notice during storms.  Over many years, it has become my habit to unplug my gadgets from the wall until the danger has passed.  (Wall outlet is in reach of my right arm as I surf the net seeking greater wisdom.)   In the printer settings, under Power Management, Sleep mode is set to 15 minutes, Auto-Off is set to 1 hour, and under Schedule Printer On/Off,  Schedule On and Schedule Off are both set to Off.  I am a 'good boy' and I turn the printer off properly before leaving my duty station.  Now the thing that really annoys me is when I plug the power cord back into the wall outlet, my lovely Printer comes to life without having to press the button.  Well I'm not ready to run a print job yet, and may not be ready until tomorrow, so I have to take 2 steps over to the printer and turn it off.  And then you should hear my wife who says "we didn't have to do this with our old HP."   In closing, let me say that I fear there is no work-around for this issue, and the only fix would be for the geek software engineers to contrive an update to the software in the printer whereby the honorable user could exercise some control over this feature.

Welcome to HP Support Community

I would like to help

Please ensure the printer has the latest Firmware https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

If the issue persists we could try a Semi Full Reset

Keep me posted

Thank you
