Results for HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer + " My ENVY 4520 stopped printing; computer printer status said it was "in use", but it wasn't. Wireless network test results from printer found no problems. Tried various combinations of restarting printer, computer (MACOS10.14.6), router, and modem without resolution. Tech friend said I would probably have to uninstall and reinstall printer. Uninstall was easy. I'm on my second try at reinstalling. Each time it took 4-5 tries for the installation software to locate the printer, even though Wireless Wizard set-up had the correct information. I didn't change anything, just kept hitting retry and after 30-45mins it "found" the computer and we proceeded to the Collecting your printer status page. The first time I let this run for 10 hours; gave up and started again last night. It has now been on the Collecting . . . page for 8 hours. Help!" (218)

Hi @asquare
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to print from your MAC. I'd be happy to assist you.
Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Cancel the installation, restart your MAC.
- Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
- This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
- Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.
Once the connection between the devices is fine, let us install the printer using AirPrint driver
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
