When the warranty expires does that mean I can no longer print?  Do I need to purchase a warranty to print.

Warranty and Printing are not related.

Warranty and using the printer are not related.

The hardware Warranty that is included with the new device hardware typically expires after a certain time period.

For consumer grade products, the warranty period is typically one year, though different regions (locations on the planet) might have different laws.

After the warranty expires you can no longer submit a repair support request to  HP World-Wide Support

You can certainly use the printer and ask for help here if you wish to do so.
