Are you able to print or scan?
WIA - Windows Image Acquisition service is an inbuilt feature with Win OS.
Check for any pending Windows update and restart the computer.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing/scanning'.

Hi Kumar
Thanks for the suggestions. Searching the internet had given me the same solutions. None of them have worked .
Windows is up to date the scanner found nothing wrong yet my laptop says WIA missing.
It will print using USB to printer port no problem.
