Hi @marke1231,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It can be frustrating when setup software like HP Smart gets stuck during the printer setup process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet 2755e getting stuck at the "Check Ink" stage:

Check Ink Cartridges: Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove them and reinstall to ensure they are correctly seated and that there's no plastic packaging material left on the contacts or nozzles.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any errors stuck in the printer's memory.

Update HP Smart Software: Ensure that your HP Smart software is up to date. An outdated version might have bugs causing the process to hang. Check for updates on the official HP website or through the app store on your computer or mobile device.

Check Printer Connectivity:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or to your network via Wi-Fi.
  • If using Wi-Fi, verify that the printer is not too far from the router, and there are no interference issues.

Clear the Printer Queue:

  • On your computer, go to the control panel and select 'Devices and Printers'.
  • Right-click on your HP printer icon and choose 'See what's printing'.
  • If there are any stuck documents, cancel them.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP support website. This tool can diagnose and resolve many common problems with HP printers.

Reinstall HP Smart:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart application.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall HP Smart from the official HP website or your device’s app store.

Manual Printer Test:

  • Try to print a test page directly from the printer’s control panel (not through HP Smart), if possible. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or the software.

If, after trying these steps, your printer still gets stuck on the "Check Ink" stage, there might be a more significant issue with the printer hardware or the ink system itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
