HP LaserJet P1005 Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

This is an automatic translation. I have a hp p1005 printer and up to windows 7 it worked perfectly with its latest official driver (2013). With windows 10 it refused to print 9 times out of 10 and with windows 11 the same thing happens. HPPDSr doesn't solve the problem. There are no subsequent drivers but the printer is excellent and I don't want to give it up. Has anyone encountered and fixed this problem? Thanks. I'm using the basic driver downloaded by hp site: ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-it but the printer doesn't work fine: sometimes it prints, sometimes it doesn't.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to print from Windows 11, and I am glad to assist you.

There is no driver available for Windows 11 OS.

However, a basic driver for Windows 10 OS is available for this printer model

Follow these steps to install the printer on Windows 10 computer.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install the printer using HP basic driver
