how do I fix the error or permanently remove the update?

when I click on Retry for the update, within a few seconds I see Downloading for a second, then Installing - 0%, immediately followed by the install error.

Hi Sandytechy20,  do you have a solution for me?  Again, I  get the error in the subject of this post each time the update is attempted.  Is there a way to fix the issue or remove the update?

The responses I have found to fix this say to plug in the printer then try to do the update.  And This thread has asked about the model of the printer.  I haven't used this printer for years and have thrown it away so I can't plug it in and I had several HP printers I don't have or know the model number.  Is there a way to stop trying to install a update I don't need?

Looked forever to try to solve this. Finally a good solution for advanced but not an expert person like me.

Method 2 worked on this YouTube Video that I found.  You can hide the install. Just follow the directions and it wont bother the crap out of you, like it did me. It's **bleep** retentiveness which is curse as well as plus in my life.
