I am disposing of my printer and am wondering if there is a memory of past print jobs in the printer that I need to wipe or delete. If there is, how do I proceed. I have an e-recycle depot I can use.

Depends on the model of printer, most low end (under 500) ink and laser printers have no real permanent memory and simply performing a factory reset will clear them. For enterprise level products that contain a harddrive, I remove the harddrive and depending on age will either drill holes in it or securely erase for use as an emergency spare. If you can post your model I can give you more specific instructions.
