HP Photosmart B110
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm unable install the drivers for my printer. When the usual wizard is running it just shuts itself down after checking my system, without installing. It doesn't give me any kind of error messages or anything, it just quits.

I've tried installing the all-in-one package, the basic driver, installing the driver through the printer section of control panel, installing the .NET, and uninstalling everything through the files it creates in my temp. Nothing has worked.

I tried it again on my girlfriends computer and the same thing happened.

Hello, @Paliandro – Hope you are well 🙂

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!

I understand that you are having trouble installing the Photosmart printer on your Windows 7 PC. Greatly appreciate all your efforts. Let’s now try these steps:

  • First, uninstall the printer completely from your system using the Microsoft Fix it tool. Get it here: http://hp.care/2dHImNI
  • Restart the PC once done.
  • Now open the Run window by pressing “Windows logo key” + R, type “services.msc” and press ok to get services window.
  • Scroll down to “Remote Procedure Call (RPC)” – right-click and go to properties. Make sure the service is started and startup type is “Automatic”.
  • Scroll down and select the “Windows installer”. Restart the service and make sure the startup type is “automatic”.
  • Now scroll up and go to “Function Discovery Provider Host” – right-click and select properties – Change the startup type to “manual” and start the service.
  • Repeat the same exercise on “Function Discovery Resource Publication” as well.
  • Click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL33100/cj-82266-2/PS_AIO_07_B110_USW_Full_Win_WW_140_126-... and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Cheers 🙂

Hi,

Follow the installation till the EULA screen.

Click the 2nd link (Internet connection usage) and select No, Thanks for both options.

Accept the EULA and continue with the installation.

May you see any difference?

@Dvortex @Shlomil

Did what you both suggested, The Microsoft Fix It tool was unable to find any HP programs or printers though.
The installation still terminates after the EULA screen, It's shuts off pretty fast, but I think the process it starts doing is removing/uninstalling some HP stuff.
