HP LaserJet P1505
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i tried installing the drivers for my printer on my laptop but they just refuse to install, after i accept the license agreement they start installing, but at one moment it stops while it still says Preinstalling the driver files and quick switching to saying copying files to hard drive... after a few seconds it just turns off, i tried dowloading the drivers on the pc and there it says to plug my printer and works normally... Printer works fine no issues whats so ever, if anyone has any solutions it would be very appreciated. Thank you

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Root level uninstall and reinstallation:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet P1505 Printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Reinstall basic printer drivers: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-p1500-printer-series/3435666/model/3435...

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
