Hi @elspethmcl,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6430e printer has lost its Wi-Fi connection and you’re unable to reconnect it to your network. Let’s go through a few steps to help you get it back online.

Restart the Printer and Router
Power off your printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
Also restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.

Check Wi-Fi Light on the Printer
Look at the blue wireless light on the printer’s control panel.

If it’s blinking, the printer is not connected to a network.

If it’s solid, the printer is connected.

Restore Network Settings
On the printer, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel (X) buttons together for about 5 seconds until the blue light starts blinking.
This resets the printer’s wireless settings so you can set it up fresh.

Use HP Smart App to Reconnect

On your phone or computer, open the HP Smart app.

Select Set up a new printer.

Follow the prompts to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Make sure your device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.

Ensure the Correct Wi-Fi Band
The Envy 6430e supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, connect to the 2.4 GHz one during setup.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report
On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information (i) button until the lights blink once.
The report will print and show the current connection status — useful to confirm successful setup.

I hope this helps.
