I've had a HP DeskJet 2700e for a couple of months now, it connected to my laptop (HP) easily and was working fine.  I had a paper jam which I fixed, and now the printer does not recognize my laptop.  I tried deleting the printer, and reconnecting it, but no luck.  This printer is not even on the list now to reconnect it.

Yes. I have deleted the printer from my laptop, and when I try and reconnect it (using HP Smart), my laptop doesn't even recognize it.  Originally, it was easy to connect, and I don't understand why it won't reconnect now..........

Hi,

 

Was a Reset / Restore Wireless done?  That is a critical step to set the printer back into a "Setup mode" for HP Smart to connect printer to the netowrk.

 

Can try a Reset Wireless and try again?

Yes, I have done a wireless reset, where you press the cancel & wireless button.  The blue wireless light blinks, but, HP Smart does not recognize this printer al all.   I've only used this printer a few times, and I am still on the original cartridges that came with the printer.  I am thinking something is wrong with this printer.

Hi,

 

After doing a reset on the printer, on the HP Smart app, can you "Hide" the printer?  Press on the printer and there is an option to "Hide".

 

After removing the printer, Add Printer and "Setup a New Printer".

 

It should be able to detect the printer and continue the setup.

I am at my wits end !   The latest suggestion did not work.  I have tried rebooting the printer, and I rebooted my laptop.  The printer is connected to my wifi.  I could not "hide" the printer, I found that option, but, it wouldn't work.  When I try & install it, HP Smart App recognizes the printer, but, it keeps saying "offline"  also the blue wifi light is blinking.  This printer was working fine until yeterday.  I don't understand what's wrong.  

I am going to see about returning it and getting a replacement........

OK, I think I have found the problem of why the printer is offline, when I try & link the printer to my wifi, the printer refuses to accept my wifi password.  I know this password is correct, as it works for my laptop & cell phone.  Please advise,  Thanks
