I am unable to connect my MFP M29w to my new internet service. I need to know how to restore the printer to factory settings.  Can someone tell me how to do that on this printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

1. Remove the USB cable from the printer. 2. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer control panel for 20 seconds. 3. When the Attention LED and the Power LED start blinking together, release the Wireless button. The printer restarts automatically. 4. When the Ready LED is on, continue to install the software.

Once done, try connecting the Printer to the new Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

Update: I did finally manage to reset to factory settings using a downloaded HP assistant and a Windows PC with USB connection to the PC. However, that did not solve the problem. I was still not able to get the HP Smart app to complete the setup for the new router. I printed out a diagnostic on my printer and it said that IP address was not being assigned. I did another factory reset and then used the Windows PC HP Assistant to input the new network name and password. I also manually assigned an IP address to the printer following a YouTube video showing just that for HP printers. That worked. I have not had any problems since. Note of caution to be safe with the IP address assignment you should use a number outside the IP assignment range for your router. My internet service doesn’t allow that much access to the router so I just followed the assignment shown on the video but I do realize that at some point that could be a problem if the router assigns the same number to a device on the network.

I'm glad to hear that. Do get back to us in the future for further assistance.

Have a nice day and stay safe!:)
