Hello,

You will need to follow the instructions below to solve this issue:

  1. On the front panel of the printer, click four times on the location of the back arrow (the arrow being inactive).
  2. A hidden menu will appear, click Support menu.
  3. Scroll down to Reset Menu, and validate with OK.
  4. Scroll down to Semi-Full reset, and validate with OK.
  5. The printer will shut down, please restart it.

Dear Mans,

Thank you for your quick reply.  I appreciate it!  Unfortunately, this solution didn't work for me.

I stumbled upon how to change the factory installed password, so I could "unlock" printer functions.

(1) Print HP Network Configuration page from printer touchscreen control panel.

(2) Under General Info, you'll see "URL(s) for Embedded Web Server" (EWS).   Follow across the line to find the EWS website address.  Mine was http://new-host-# .

(3) Go to EWS website, sign in, and select Settings on the far right.

(4) Select Security.

(5) Select Password Setting.  Then type in password you wish to use.  (The user name & password that were locked-in at the factory were:  admin & 12345678).  Pls. note that the user name remains admin.  This worked for me.  Hope it works for others too.
