HP Deskjet 4155e
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I recently set up my printer, and it seemed to work. But after updating, devices can no longer print to it.

I printed a printer information page and it had the listed connections:
This printer is connected to the wireless network "*****".

The printer IP address is ***.***.*.**.

Signal strength is excellent.

This printer is not connected to the Internet.

How can I make sure it connects and works again?

Thank you

Hi@Elissa_b,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

To reconfigure the printer, follow the steps from the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

Additionally, refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help.

Use HP Utility software, which comes with the full feature HP drivers, to connect the printer to the network by temporarily using a USB cable connection to configure Wi-Fi settings.

  1. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the printer  and to the computer.

  2. Click the Apple icon , and then click System Preferences.

  3. Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

  4. Click the plus icon , and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

    The Printers & Scanners window

  5. Click the name of your printer with USB as the Kind.

  6. Select your printer from the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

  7. Click your printer name, and then click Options & Supplies > Utility > Open Printer Utility.

  8. In HP Utility, click Wireless Setup.

Clicking Wireless Setup in the HP Utility

  9. Check if your network name displays in the Confirm Wireless Settings window.

    • If your network name displays, click Continue, and then click Done.

    • If your network name does not display, select No, I want to choose another network, click Continue, select your network name and enter the password, click Continue, and then click Done.

If you do not know your network password, go to Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer.

  10. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer, and then wait for the printer to connect to the network. The wireless light on the control panel turns on solid when the connection completes.

  11. In the Printers & Scanners or Print & Scan window, click the name of your printer, and then click the minus icon  to delete the USB installed printer.

  12. Click the plus icon, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

  13. Click the name of your printer with Bonjour listed as the Kind, click the Use or Print Using menu, and then select the name of your printer in the pop-up menu.

  14. Click Add to complete the setup.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
