Hi
I am trying to access the web services from the EWS page, but I seem to have a custom printer password in place that I do not remember setting up. I have tried 'admin' as suggested on another thread, but that did not work. Does anyone know how to reset this password?
Many thanks in advance!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
Most of the printers when you restore the network settings on the printer to defaults, the password for the EWS page gets reset.
Restore the network settings to default settings to reset the EWS page password:
Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button
from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.
Once it is done set a new password for EWS page, follow the below steps:
The PIN or password is either a password entered previously by a printer administrator or is a PIN found on a label adhered to the printer.
You can find the label on the back of the printer or open the cartridge access door and look inside the printer. If a PIN is not listed on the label, or if the PIN/password is not accepted, consult with the person that previously managed the printer to find the correct PIN/password.
If your printer is connected to the local network, get the IP address, and then type it into a web browser on a computer or mobile device to open the printer homepage.
-
Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device.
-
Obtain the printer IP address.
-
Printers with a touchscreen control panel: Find the IP address in the Wireless menu or in network settings.
-
Printers without a touchscreen control panel: Print a network configuration page to obtain the IP address. For many models, press the Wireless
and Information
buttons to print the report.
-
-
Type the IP address into the web browser address line, and then press Enter.
-
If a login or certificate window displays, complete the information to finish opening the EWS.
-
If a website security certificate displays, click Continue to open the printer homepage.
-
If a login window opens, type admin for the User Name, and type the pin number as the PIN or password from the label adhered to the printer.
-
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
