Hi @MataHari9,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resoluhe "out of paper" error on your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-In-One Printer, despite having paper loaded, can be due to several reasons, including paper misalignment, sensor issues, or software glitches.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

    1. Check Paper Alignment and Type
  • Ensure Proper Loading: Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the tray. Adjust the paper width guides so that they rest against the edges of the paper stack.
  • Paper Type and Quality: Use standard, good-quality paper that is not bent, torn, or wrinkled. Avoid using mixed types and sizes of paper.

2. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Access Rollers: Open the paper tray and locate the paper feed rollers.
  • Clean Rollers: Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the internal sensors.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Software

  • Firmware Update: Check for any firmware updates for your printer. This can be done through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
  • Driver Update: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for macOS 12.0 Monterey. Download them from the HP support website.

5. Check Printer Settings

  • Paper Size Settings: Make sure the paper size setting in the printer software matches the paper loaded in the tray.
  • Paper Type Settings: Verify that the printer settings (via the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel) match the type of paper you are using.

6. Printer Diagnostic Tools

  • HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to run a printer diagnostic. This can identify and sometimes fix issues related to paper feed.

7. Sensor Issues

  • Check Paper Sensors: There might be dust or debris blocking the paper sensors. Gently clean the sensors with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Sensor Malfunction: If the sensors are faulty, they may need to be repaired or replaced. Contact HP support for assistance if this is the case.

8. Reconnect the Printer

  • Re-add Printer: Remove the printer from your list of printers in macOS (System Preferences > Printers & Scanners), then re-add it.
  • Network Connection: If using the printer over Wi-Fi, ensure a stable connection. Sometimes reconnecting the printer to the network can help.

9. Check for Physical Obstructions

  • Paper Path: Ensure there are no obstructions in the paper path. Remove any stuck paper or foreign objects that might be blocking the sensors.
