Hi @Oboy32,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Resetting a printer to its factory default settings without a password can be a bit tricky, as most printers require some level of authentication to access such sensitive functions. However, you can try the following steps to attempt a reset on an HP LaserJet 200 Color 251nw:

Note: This method may not work on all HP LaserJet printers, and it might not work without a password if one is required.

  • Power off the Printer: Make sure the printer is turned off.
  • Press and Hold Cancel Button: On some HP printers, holding down the "Cancel" button while powering on the printer might initiate a factory reset.
  • Network Reset (if applicable): If you're trying to reset network settings, some HP printers have a network reset option that you can access via the control panel. Navigate through the printer's menu options, and look for a "Network" or "Wireless" menu. You may find a "Restore Network Settings" option.
  • Hard Reset: A hard reset is another option to try. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still turned off. Wait for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on. This may reset some settings.
  • Default Password: If your printer asks for a password during the reset process, try entering the default password, which is often "admin" or "password." If this doesn't work, consult your printer's manual or HP's support resources for the default password.

Please be aware that performing a factory reset will erase all custom settings and configurations on the printer, including any network settings or custom print settings. It should only be done as a last resort when all other options have been exhausted, and you are willing to reconfigure the printer from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
