Hi@darrellhay,

Thanks for engaging in the HP support community! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

This feature is only available (at this writing) on select HP+ printers.

“Print Anywhere App” Supported on Select Printers

HP Printers - Print Anywhere with the HP Smart App

If you switch OFF the Print Anywhere feature,

you can still add accounts you wish to have remote access to the printer.

On those printers where the feature is available,

The Private Pickup option can be enabled / disabled when Print Anywhere is switch ON

See Step 3 > Section(s), including:  Private Pickup (HP+ printers only)

If you switch OFF the Print Anywhere feature,

you can still add accounts you wish to have remote access to the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Switching off Private Pickup on HP Smart on ALL devices DOES NOT turn off this feature on Printe Anywhere.  Very annoying.  Please solve and advise me.  Thanks, PS

No updates or changes to Windows. This is a new machine, just hooked up, private pickup will not turn off.

I have "allow printing from anywhere" turned on and "Require Private Pickup" turned off.  However, when printing, it is still requiring private pickup and approval from my mobile device.  I'm unable to print from my laptop directly to the printer. It appears that others are having the same issue and HP Help keeps sending the same solution, which does not work.

Yes, I have turned off "private pickup" (see my initial posting).  I'm printing from a laptop and the OS is the most current version of Windows 10.

Thank you for posting back.

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

To enable or disable the Private Pickup feature perform the following steps.

  1. Click My HP Account or Account.
  2. Click Manage HP Benefits, and then click Print Anywhere.
  3. Enable Allow Printing from anywhere.
  4. Disable Require Private Pickup. A Private Pickup tile is automatically added once the Private Pickup feature is enabled.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
