Hi @robynrex ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand It can be frustrating when a new device won't connect to wifi. There are a few additional things you can try to get your HP LaserJet MFP M139w working on your network:

  • Restart everything: This may seem basic, but sometimes a simple restart of your printer, computer/phone, and router can clear up any communication issues. Turn everything off, wait 30 seconds, and then power them back on in sequence (router first, then printer, then computer/phone).
  • Check the Wifi signal strength: Make sure your printer is close enough to your router to get a strong wifi signal. If the signal is weak, try moving the printer closer to the router.
  • Confirm you are entering the correct SSID and password: Double-check that you are entering the correct wifi network name (SSID) and password during the setup process. These can be case-sensitive, so be sure to type them exactly.
  • Restore the Wi-Fi setup mode on the printer: HP has a specific process to reset the wifi settings on the printer itself. You can find the steps for your model here: HP Restore Wi-Fi setup mode
  • Connect using WPS (if available): If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you may be able to use this method to connect your printer more easily. Consult your router's manual for instructions on using WPS.

I hope this helps.
