I received error code 0xc19a0024 on my printer. It instructed me to remove the print head and reinstall which I did. On the second attempt I looked at the head and it has black ink all over it. There obviously is a leak in the print head assembly some where. I cleaned it well and replaced it but I still have the same issue. Any advice?

Hi there @hpmh
Welcome to the HP Community
I read your post about the Ink System Failure error code you are seeing on your Officejet 6500A Plus, and understand you have already tried cleaning the printhead, and the error persists.
My suggestions would be to check out the standard troubleshooting guide for this problem here: 'Problem with Printhead,' 'Printer Failure,' 'Ink System Failure,' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error M...
If the reset did not help, you could also check out this post from my colleague @Bob_Headrick , who has a great post with instructions on how to soak the printhead, which might work in your case. Get to his post by clicking this link: Solution! Re: black ink not working

Hi @hpmh
In my experience the 0xc19a0024 is not recoverable and indicates a true printhead failure. If your printer is still within warranty I'd advise calling HP support for a replacement printhead. If not, one option would be to purchase a new printhead online at the HP Part Store.
Hope this helps
Ciara
