Officejet Pro X451DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got an Officejet Pro X451DW in December 2013; it worked okay at first but would occasionally fail with error "0xc6fd0213 There is a problem with the printer or ink system". This happened progressively more often, and now happens every time I turn the printer on.

What does the error code mean? Any way I can get help given that the printer is well outside warranty?

I found plenty of hits on this error code on the internet; seems to be a common problem with this class of printer and similar models.
