How do I re-set my printer?

Hi @James45,

Welcome to the HP Support forums.

I understand that you would like to reset your HP ENVY 4502 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

There are a couple ways that you can reset the printer.

The first reset is the Power(Hard) Reset:

Resetting power to the printer forces the printer to reset stored values in the firmware. A power reset can help when the printer is not accepting communication from the Mac.

Make sure the printer is idle, not making any sounds, before continuing.

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

3. Wait at least 60 seconds.

4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

6. If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

The second reset Restoring to Defaults which is done on the printer's front panel:

1 From the printer's Home Screen, scroll down to "Tools", the click "OK",

2 Scroll down in the Tools menu to "Restore to Defaults", then click "OK".

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

In fact, if this helps you to reach a solution, please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message.:smileyhappy:

Thanks!

Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom to say “Thanks” for helping.
