Enterprise 600 M602

I keep getting the following error message.  50.42.00 fuser error    I have replaced the fuser and the ink cartridge and I still get the same error.  I'm not sure what else to do or try.  Any suggestions???  I will try anything at this point.

@hctreas

Was it a new fuser or a used fuser???

You may want to try this.

Clearing the event log from the Service menu

1. Press the Home button.

2. Open the following menus:

Device Maintenance

Service

The PIN for the HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M601, M602, and M603 Series Printer is

10060111, 10060211, or 10060311 depending on your model.

3. Scroll to the Clear Event Log item, and then press the OK button.

It was the original fuser that came with the printer.  Then I purchased a maintenance kit with a refurbished fuser.  I will try what you suggested.  Thank you.

It won't even let me go to the Home menu.  It does nothing when I hit the home button.

How many pages has the M602 printed? You can find this on a configuration page under "Engine Cycles" which can be obtained throught eh front panel or EWS.

50.4X relate to fuser temperature.

Verify the device isn't plugged into a surge proctector.

Verify the fuser you purchased is the correct voltage: they are available in 110v  & 220v (european).

Issue can sometimes occur if there is a scrap of paper stuck inside the unit you have overlooked. This may prevent the engine from starting (to avoid damage to the printer). If paper is stuck or a paper sensor is obstructed it may stop the fuser from heating correctly. You can try running an engine test to verify engine capabilities.

Less frequently; The issue might be with the fuser drive assembly/motor. Also try checking the gears in the back on the left side for obstruction.

Sometimes reseating the fuser will help. It needs to *click* into place firmly.

Updating firmware may also correct the issue as the problem could be controlled by the DC controller. Updating firmware may alleviate the error.

Is your printer out of warranty?

When you replaced the first fuser did it have any error codes? If it worked when you took it now but was just worn it should have worked when you put it back in.

You might want to download a service manual, I often can find them on: feedroller.com

I looked at another service manual that I had on my phone as the error codes are fairly consistent between models, it was a fuser power supply circuit driving error.

I inadvertently tapped the post button on my phone, and it's easier to continue in another post.

The fuser power supply is on the power supply board which is a challenge to replace, the fuser plugs directly into that board and if you find a picture of the board online so you can see the size you realize it takes up a good bit of space in the middle of the printer.

The temperature control circuitry that is controlling the output of that power supply to the fuser is on the DC controller, you should find a picture of that and look at it there's about 30 cables plugged into it.

Unfortunately the only way to prove that a part is failing is to replace it with a known good part. I have a used M600 series DC controller in my collection so I'm covered but you would need to find someone somewhere with one.
