Product: HP laser jet 4100

I replaced the toner cartridge from my HP laser Jet printer.  The printer gave me this message:  remove sealing tape from the cartridge.  Please help me correct the problem.

Some suggest cleaning contacts on both the toner and where the toner chip comes in contact with the printer, others suggest removing the chip from the toner cartridge. A few reputable contributors have a few different ways of trying to solve this. Do a search for the 54.1 error in the forum, you will more than likely find your answer.
