Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 e-All-in-One Printer

and it is not getting connected to the internet

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Restart the computer, printer, and router.
  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Check the status of the wireless connection.
  • Assign a manual IP address to your printer.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for being a part of the HP community.

Thanks for the super quick reply. Superb job on trying the different steps to isolate the issue.

You are simply awesome. Kudos to you. It is a genuine pleasure to work with technically competent customers like you.

I thank you again for trying these steps. Hats off!

I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • First, try restarting your computer, printer and wireless router.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test report from the printer control panel. Pressing the Wireless button allows direct access to printing this report.

On the Wireless Network Test report check the following:

  1. In the Diagnostic Results "Connectivity" area, is Connected indicated as PASS?
  2. If not, your printer is not connected to any network at this time. Ensure your wireless router is turned on and functioning properly.
  3. You may need to connect your printer to your network again. Follow these instructions
  4. Check any messages at the top of the report that can help you correct the problem, and follow the instructions shown.
  5. In the "Current Configuration" area, does the "Network Name (SSID)" match your network name?
  6. If your printer is not connected to your network, you will need to reconnect the printer to your network. Follow these instructions
