HP 6520 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

6520 is about 2 1/2 years old.  Printer head looks clean but it will not print any black except when I choose Photo paper.  I have tried cleaning but It made no difference.

The black ink appears to be getting lower.

I have also tried unplugging it but that did not work.

Hi,

Probably it uses photo cartridge (also black) when print on photo paper but it does not use normal black to print B&W text. Please try the following methods to fix

(This is for a similar printer)

Regards.

Thank you but I already read that and tried all of those things before I found the it.   It is really a bummer I have always like HP and had a relative who worked there for years but last 2 printers are not lasting long before issues and it is too important to be down.

Any other ideas I am about to give up
