How do I unlock my Office Jet 8610? It keeps saying control panel locked and prompts me to enter in a username and password I never created in the first place

Thanks

Hi Dave145,

Have you tried entering "admin" for the username and leaving the password blank?

If that doesn't work try this link here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/officejet-pro-8610-hard-reset-to-get-rid-of-admin/td-p...

It will guide you on how to restore factory settings and removing the admin login from your printer.

Let me know if that helps.

Tried it, doesn't work.

Tried disconnecting and restarting, it doesnt work.

It won't let me restore factory settings either

Hi Dave145,

- Hit the back button 4 times on the control panel. If it doesn't work try pressing it a 5th time

- The support menu should appear, press it

- Navigate right once and select "Resets Menu"

- Select "Semi-Full Reset" or something similar to that

You may lose other configured settings on the printer but that will remove the admin login.
