Hi, I bought an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer a few months ago. It has never been able to print any Sitka fonts. Is there a way to update the driver to print Sitka Banner, Sitka Display, Sitka Heading, Sitka Small, Sitka Subheading and Sitka Text? Most important for me! Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Are you able to install the fonts into Win 10 system so that you can use it for your applications?
Right click on your Windows Start button > Control panel > Fonts
Click on Fonts
Drag any TrueType font file to the main window containing all your other installed fonts. (See screenshot at top.) When you drop it, you'll see a brief "installing font" message, and then, presto, you're done.
Hope that helps!

Hi Greenturtle,
Thanks for your diligent effort. I don't have MS Windows, and use Open Office 4.1.2 for word processing. The six Sitka fonts are in the program. The problem seems to be that the HP printer software does not recognize the Sitka family, and will not print them out. So I am wondering if there is a work around solution? I'm computer semi-literate, so please bear with me if you can reply, and let me know step by step what I need to do. Thanks very much!

Hi @guidedfire
Here's what we found:
How can I add fonts to OpenOffice?
OpenOffice.org uses the fonts that are installed in your system. Add new fonts using the Font management tools for your Operating System (for example in Microsoft Windows, you add new fonts via Control Panel > Fonts). You may need to restart OpenOffice.org (including the Quickstarter), to see the new fonts in the Font Name list box.
via this link:

So you will need to add fonts to the Operating system following the steps from the original post and it will appear on the OpenOffice,
If you need to download the Sitka fonts, this resource from Microsoft would be useful:

Hope that helps!

Hi greenturtle,
Thanks for a quick response, but if I understand you correctly, that doesn't solve my issue. The Sitka fonts already are in my OS, under Control Panel / Fonts. The Sitka fonts are pre-packaged in Open Office. If I highlight in an Open Office text document on e.g. one line on a single page, and change its font to any one of the Sitka fonts, the characters in the line will appear on my SCREEN correctly in the Sitka font I've selected. But when I try to PRINT that same single page that contains a line in Sitka font, it won't print out on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710: the page won't print at all. I will add that the Sitka fonts are the ONLY fonts I've been working with that prevent printing out, and I've worked with all 150+ fonts that come pre-packaged with Open Office. I need each of the fonts I'm working with to print out.
Like I've suggested, this appears to be an issue of the HP driver not recognizing Sitka fonts. That is why I am wondering if there is a work around solution?
