See my post at the end of this thread. The "recall" is a nice way to say HP is facing a HUGE issue with fraudulent ink cartridges coming out of Malaysia.

It's a fraud issue HP is facing with their ink cartridges. "Recall" is a nice way to not be up front that HP is facing a MAJOR fraud issue with their ink cartridges coming out of Malaysia.

It's Fraud, it's a shortage caused by fraudulent ink cartridges. The fact HP hasn't been up front about this is criminal. They were continuing to sell ink cartridges through their site even with the knowledge that most cartridges being sold are fraudulent.  That is the definition of criminal. They couldn't hide this issue any longer with the extreme demand for home office ink cartridges.

It's major fraud at their manufacturing facility in Malaysia. HP is not being up front about this because they have knowingly been selling fraudulent cartridges through their site. There are major legal ramifications if they are up front about what's going on. For instance just look at all the posts saying they bought new cartridges that are telling them they are incompatible. Start there, do a little google search and you can easily decipher what's going on. Someone needs to hold HP accountable for this.

It's fraud, not defective. Do simple google search for hp Malaysian fraud issue.. all the cartridges coming out of Malaysia have been fraudulent. This is an issue HP has been aware of for years and continued to knowingly sell fraudulent cartridge through their site. It's not come front and center with the high demand for ink cartridges due to working from home. They conveniently called it a "recall" so they can quietly clean it up and not face legal action.

It's fraud happening at their manufacturing facility in Malaysia. I'm trying to make as many people on here aware if it as possible because it seems no one is aware of what's going on. Please see my other posts on this issue.

They're not going to be forthcoming about it because they are complicit in the distribution of fraudulent cartridges coming from Malaysia. HP has been aware of this issue for years and has not cleaned it up and they are now hiding behind a phony "recall". This issue needs to go to as many national publications as possible.

Had the defective cartridge error thrown upon installing new color cartridges the other night in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 that I ordered in Aug 2020.  I figured it was just a one-off issue and tried to go to Amazon to order some new ones.  As others have noted there are none to be found anywhere.

Then after a few google searches I stumbled across this thread which paints an even more disturbing picture of why no ink is to be found anywhere.  I did submit a support ticket regarding this and they indicated they were going to send me some new cartridges.  That is nice but doesn't fully solve the issue of being able to buy new cartridges beyond the defective ones I have.

I would like a full refund for this printer which I bought in April of 2020.  HP has managed to effectively make this a useless printer with their poor manufacturing quality process.  Given the monopoly they have on these cartridges and how much they charge you would think they would take better care of their golden goose.

Ridiculous.

I've been dealing with HP on the exact situation.  However, I had purchased some 910 ink previously and my printer wouldn't accept it. It kept saying it was incompatible, and it was actual HP ink.  I think HP is trying to force everyone into their instant ink program by not providing ink to purchase.  I now have 3 of these printers that are absolutely worthless, because I cannot get ink to run them.  I am now going to break down and sign up for instant ink, and see if they suddenly have ink to supply for me.  They did send me ONE replacement cartridge for 3 brand new ones that I purchased that do not work in my printer.  I supplied the information on all 3 of the malfunctioning cartridges, and HP sent me 1, instead of 3.  VERY UNHAPPY and planning to switch to another line of printers.  I will not purchase HP printer again.
