I have a HP Color LaserKet 4540 giving an error of 99.09.62-Secure Disk locked to another device.   It also says that a disk or boot error ocurred.  I attempted to wipe out the firmware and then reload it.  The hard drive inside the printer is a Seagate, 250 GB disk.  I took that HD and placed it in a laptop to see if I could format it but it wont allow me.  I ran a diagnostics on the HD and everything seem to be fine.  Looking for suggestions.

Hi,

Perform a ERASE and UNLOCK or CLEAR DISK and Upgrade the firmware through preboot menu.

to enter into Pre boot menu

1) power on the printer, when 3 LED glows constantly press Stop button

2) scroll through the menu to

Administrator->Manage Disk->Boot Disk->Erase / Unlock

Now after the above step, power off the printer , load the firmware(.bdl file ) in pendrive insert it and power on th eprinted and get into pre boot menu.

the upgrade the firmware .

Administrator->Download->USB thumbdrive-> .bdl file

Once the file is copied (its shows transfer100%)

Power off the printer and power on.

THis will resolve the issue
