Help!

I've had an HP Deskjet F4280 All - in - One for many years and have had no problems until I  recently replaced the colour cartridge. When it printed the page, after I did the standard alignment set up, blue appeared on the sheet when it's been red in the past. Now everything has a blue tint and I don't get anything which has red, yellow, green or orange. Even a printed boarding pass turned out blue in parts when it should've been orange.

I've cleaned the printer cartridge and searched this forum, but without success. Has this printer had it?

All tips gratefully accepted.

Hi,

Try removing the color ink cartridge, take a small peace of tissue and try stamping on the tissue at the bottom side of the nozzels.

Can you see a clear mark of both Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colors appeared while stamping the ink cartridge?

Is it a Genuine HP ink cartridge?

Can you see any of the colors as expected by printing a self test report as following?

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01361419

I would rather suspect a faulty ink cartridge than a damaged printer, as the printhead is integrated within the ink cartridge itself...

Please let me know the results,

Shlomi

Thank you for such a speedy reply.

In answer to your questions it is a genuine HP 300 tri - colour cartridge; having done the tissue test there are just Cyan marks and nothing else; the self test print out shows a Cyan horizontal strip, but no Magenta or Yellow. Where these should be on the page, it's just blank.

Is it a faulty cartridge? If so, I shan't be able to get a replacement as I no longer have the receipt.

Went out and bought a replacement cartridge and you were right. The one I previously bought was faulty. Spot on, Shlomil and thanks for coming to the rescue.
