Hi katt6,
I read your post which indicates that you are getting a message "A print job in the print queue is preventing other print jobs from printing". Thanks for providing the detailed steps you have already tried. I can help you.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
Printing a Network Configuration Page.
Run the Microsoft Fix It Tool to see if this will help.
Diagnose and fix printer and printing problems automatically.
Continue with the steps below if the issue persists:
I have provided a document to clear out the print spool folder to see if it will help resolve this issue.
How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7.
Try printing again.
Printer is networked steps:
If you are still having problems and the printer is on the network, check the Configuration Page to see if you have a valid IP address.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, go to printer properties, select ports tab, click configure port.
If they don't match then close the configure port window and click create a port and follow the wizard.
Make sure the printer is online.
Test the printer.
If you are still having issues, check the network IP address on the computer to see if the first 3 sets of numbers match.
Go to start, type run in the search box, type in cmd, then type Ipconfig.
Check the IP address.
Now check the IP address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
Try and ping the printer.
In the same window type ping IP address of printer. (space in between ping and the IP)
Do you get any replies back?
What network setup do you have? (Modem/Router/2 Routers/Booster/Airport/Switch)
Connect the printer to the main router if you are using more then 1.
If the printer is setup by a USB connection, please try the following steps:
Try another USB cable if you have one. Try another USB port on the computer. Make sure the USB cable is 6 feet or less and is connected directly to the computer and not a USB hub.
Check the port assigned to the printer on the computer.
Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, go to printer properties, select ports tab. It should be checked on USB.
Set the driver to print directly to the printer. Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, left click printer properties, click on the advanced tab, select print directly to the printer, apply and OK.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
Is the printer shared, USB or networked? (how many computers are using the printer)
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
Have a wonderful day!
Thank You.
