ADF Scan - blue lines

HP Recommended
Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Scan in ADF jammed.  Once cleared, I now get a couple blue lines on the scan.  An ADF copy or a flat bed scan do not produce the same results.  I have cleaned the printer/glass, I have unplugged while on (for 15 min) I have tried to reset to factory defaults and nothing...same blue lines on the scan.

Hi @SKeefer,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues with scanning from ADF on your HP OfficeJet 8600 printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Does that Scanner bulb light up?

Does the scanner bar move when you open the lid & press the copy button?

Are you able to print without any issues?

Have you checked for any paper Jam or any obstructions inside the printer?

Is it a horizontal blue line or a vertical line.

In the meantime, let's try to follow these steps here:

If it happens to be a horizontal blue line, this could indicate an issue with the drivers or with the cartridge.

If it happens to be a vertical line, this could be a printer or the roller, scanner bed or the scanner bulb.

I have found a wonderful document which should help you resolve this issue. HP Printers - Fixing Scan Quality Issues

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.
