I want to buy the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw, but I want to know if it is compatible with the Apple AirPrint system for iOS.

On the Apple's site there isn't, but it is strange because the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw is also wi-fi (like the 1525nw).

Thx

Airprint isn't currently supported on the CP1025nw.  Your right, the it supports wifi, but Airprint is different.  I don't know if it will be supported in the future.  Currently the only LaserJet products that support Airprint are the 1536, 1415, and 1525.

something is clearly wrong here.  The CP1025nw is marketed as an ePrint printer.  AirPrint works with any ePrint printer.  When I bought the CP1025nw specifically to use with AirPrint and got it home, it said something to the effect that ePrint support will be added later this year.  The year ends this week and there still is no information that I can find on adding ePrint support.  Meanwhile I have a printer that I bought specifically because it would support printing from the iPad only to still have no direct support for doing this.

Is there any new estimate for when the CP1025nw will support ePrint, thus be AirPrint enabled?

good question,

I'm also waiting for that Firmware

let's hope they will release it soon, so I can use the fully feature of my new printer

Hello all

Unfortunately, the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw is not AirPrint compatibile now and may not be until later in mid-2011.  HP will try and post update info in a month or two about the CP1025 and AirPrint compatibility.

This page is the number one listing on google when you search for "hp cp1025nw AirPrint". I am also a Christmas buyer of this printer and am looking for AirPrint capability for my iPad. Hopefully more owners of this printer will register for this forum and post a request for firmware update for this printer.

I bought a CP 1025nw with the understanding that it had ePrint capability so I could print from my iPad. The add in the store specifically stated that it had ePrint capability. Well it doesn't and there is no indication that it will become available other than if it becomes available I will get an email.

HP advertises it as an ePrint printer ... is this false advertisement ... do we need to file a class action suit?

I am totally disillusioned  with HP ...

WHEN WILL ePrint BE AVAILABLE, HP? Please tell me before I take the printer back for a refund.

I am about to return my CP1025nw because of false advertising

As I understand it ePrint and AirPrint are 2 very different techniques for printing.

AirPrint which you are trying to do means the iPad speaks directly to the printer and out comes what you wanted.

ePrint lets you email your printer with stuff you want it to print and goes through a 'third party' which is the HP ePrint servers. The third party is reporting some discontinuity of service of late.

If your iPad is not currently able to AirPrint to your printer, but your printer is advertised as ePrint capable then you'd want to set up email on your iPad (or iPhone etc) and email your stuff to the printer rather than just tapping the print option. If ePrint is working with your printer you should still be able to print from an iPad, iPhone, blackberry etc, it will just be a bit more of a stuff around and very simple process that is AirPrint once you get it set up and working.

At this time the only single function color LaserJet that supports Airprint or Eprint is the CP1525. The eprint/airprint functionality for the CP1025nw should be availaible in mid 2011. You can sign up for an email alert when the FW update is availabe at HPeprintcenter.com
