My HP Officejet all-in-one 4630  stopped scanning and copying. Wondering if a doc detection issue? Anyone have this problem? I tried to reinstall driver but still not working.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums. Can you try the following:

Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e016-1&h_keyword=dg-PDU

Hope that helps.

Hi @Kelwalk

You are welcome!

If that doesn't work, can you please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

How to Uninstall Download & Reinstall a Printer software

Hope that helps!

Still didn't work and HP doesn't give local business to fix. Why can't they do that??

Just to add to your post I appear to have the same problem. My Photosmart 6520e All in One stopped scanning and printing yesterday. Been through all the suggested assistance pages without success. ie HP Doctor , uninstalled and re-installed software etc. Perhaps an expert can help both of us.

I have concluded that it is the printer as the light and carriage under the glass do not work. When requested to PRINT the words starting copy appear on screen without any furtyher progress. When scan pressed SCAN VIEW IN PROGRESS appears but no further progress.

The printer is just over 2 years old, not used very much. Seems to have given up.

Suggestions to get it going again gratefully received. Thanks

David

Hopefully, we can get a reply on hwhere to get fixed at least! Mine is about 2 years old as well. Wasn't planning on getting a new one...

Further to my recent post I thought I report how I have got on.

I spent a lot of time trying to get the printer working. It was a bit of a puzzle as the printer printed out a Printer Status Report and a colour chart when instructed from the PC but the scanner would not operate to PRINT or SCAN.

However for the umpteenth time I was touching the buttons on the Control Panel and going through the choices when the scanner under the glass burst into life. My patience had been rewarded. I cannot say what the malfunction was or what I actually did to kick start it but I was almost at the stage where I was thinking it had died and a new printer was going to be needed.

Kelwalk hope you also have success.

David
