Running OS X 10.9.1 with a Photosmart c310. Trying to scan. The printer is connected wirelessly. I have an Apple Airport Extreme router. I've uninstalled the HP software. Reset printing system. Installed the printer from the system preferences. The printer works fine. When I try to scan (from Preview, Image Capture or System Preferences) I get the "error occurred while communicating with the printer" message immediately.
Please help. Very frustrated.

Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

OK, did you restart the router by pulling its power plug momentarily?
You also may try to download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Restart your Mac.

I have tried the following:
1) Resetting the Print System on my Mac
2) Downloading the latest printer driver from HP
3) Downloading the latest firmware update on the Photosmart B210a printer itself
4) Powering down my router/wireless
Still, I get: the printer is not responding.
HELP!!!!!!!
