Are there mac drivers available for the USB driven portable monitor?

It looks attractive, I would like to use it in combination with a recent mountain lion mac-book-pro retina as a 2nd monitor.

Did anyone try this sort of combination?

Lacking native HP drivers for OSX, do generic displaylink drivers work for this monitor? http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php

Anyone has experience how does this monitor compare to similar portable 2nd screen products, been looking at offerings by:

AOC 16"  E1649FWU USB monitor

Toshiba 14" USB

Lenovo Think Vision USB LT1421

Monitor 2 go: www.mmt2.com

Ge-Chic On-Lab 2501M 15.6"

I just got this monitor today. The link to the generic drivers you posted here work perfectly with the monitor.

Im very interested in buying this monitor but want to confirm whether the driver is still working for you?  Have you had any problems with your macbook pro?

Hi Did you end up getting it?  Did it work?

This monitor is confirmed as a DisplayLink monitor ( http://www.technocrates.org/hp-announced-a-portable-usb-monitor-and-inexpensive-laptops/ ). DisplayLink is a technology that works incredibly well on my MBP with the drivers from the DisplayLink website. My U160 arrives later today. I'll try to post if it works.

NOTE: Full screen video is a showstopper for DisplayLink but all other functions work surprisingly well. i.e. a non-fullscreen youtube video plays fine.

Did this work for everyone?

Yes. I installed the OSX DisplayLink drivers before plugging it in and it worked like a charm.

The link in the chain was the correct information, correct? Thank you so much for your reply.

Correct. The monitor is midway through the post. If you travel a lot and need a second monitor for travel.
