I just bought a mac because for 3 months was unable to print from Microsoft Windows 10. Just gave up. Now attempting to connect mac to printer and it's asking for my password. Never had one. Follow directions in another thread about accessing wireless set up, however received this message. You can customize the password on the embedded web server. What does that mean? I am 75 and really trying hard to just print some documents I need. On a limited budget and not able to keep buying printers and computers. There must be a way. Help me please😢

@Sarah36

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Deskjet 3520 e-All-in-One Printer and were unable to connect it to a Win10 computer and now to a Mac. When you try to connect it to the Mac, it is asking for a password which according to you does not exist. I realise that you have put in a lot of efforts and I appreciate that.

Looks like you're trying to connect the printer over a wireless network and the wireless network is secured by a password to avoid unauthorized access. To print wirelessly, you need the wireless network password to connect your HP printer to your wireless network. The password might be called the Wi-Fi security key, WEP key, or WPA or WPA2 passphrase. Your wireless password is generally provided by your ISP (internet service provider).

If you're not sure what the password might be then please follow the detailed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2mccjtZ

Once you have acquired the password, then you could perform the steps to setup the printer over the network: Wireless Printer Setup

Also, you could consider the below method and use HP Wireless Direct allows your Wi-Fi devices such as computers, smart phones, and tablets, to connect to your printer directly through Wi-Fi, using the process you currently use to connect your Wi-Fi device to new wireless networks and hotspots. With Wireless Direct, you can print directly to the printer wirelessly, without a wireless router, from your Wi-Fi enabled devices.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance in this matter. I'm always here to assist you. All the best! 🙂
