HP 7520 Photojet
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have seen previous solutions about Avery labels not printing correctly on an HP 7520 series photojet printer.  However, the solutions are for Windows 7 and Vista.  Can anyone provide suggestions on how to make an Avery template (11900) print correctly with Windows 10?

Thank you for any help or suggestions you can provide.

It appears the labels come on a standard-sized template sheet (8.5 X 11 inches).

Two choices:

  • Download the template and use Word to edit / save / print the labels

Big Tab Insertable Dividers 5 Tab

(You must sign-in to your Avery account to download templates.)

  • Use the free Avery software with your template to edit / save/ print the label sheet(s).

Hint:

When printing, set your Media (kind of paper) to Brochure or other "thicker" paper.

Thank you for your reply.  I have tried all of that.  In previous forums, it looks like there is a disconnect between the printer driver and templates.  Suggestions were provided to change drivers, but they were for previous operating sustems and do not work for Windows 10.

The Photosmart 7520 is supported in Windows 10.

There is no need to change drivers, although it may be needful to remove and then reinstall the latest Full Feature Software.

If you expect to use Web Services (and if you have not already done so),  you must update the firmware.

READ the instructions before deciding to update the printer firmware.

As I recall, the Photosmart 7520 supports Media type "Brochure" -- this Media (kind of paper) is likely usable with the folder divider label sheets.

Avery Software:

Partial Example...

Open program > Select Dividers >

Search for template 11900 >

Options

Number of Sets to Complete = 3  (your choice may be different)

Start on Set = 1

Next

Image Placement = Left

CHECK Different image each tab

Tab 1 Tab Text = This is a Test

Graphics > Add >  Browse and Select tiny red arrow from my image collection

Create Dividers

View switches to the "Main" edit view (as shown in the examples in the Dragon Document)

Continue edits (edit "one" and click on the individual tab to edit)

Save icon >> save the completed template to your computer

Preview and Print

See Preview sheet with tiny entries in each tiny tab / label

Print

Printer menu appears

Printer Properties >

tab Printing Shortcut:

Left column:

  • Select General Everyday Printing or similar (or select a custom shortcut you created)

Right Column:

  • Paper Type:  HP Brochure and Flyer Paper, Matte

NOTE:  Your paper selection may be different - select a similar paper.  No Brochure?  Look for Presentation paper

  • Pages per sheet:  1
  • Borderless: Off
  • Print on both sides: None

tab Paper / Quality:

  • Select Tray 1

tab Layout:

Orientation:  Portrait

  • Paper Size:  Letter (8.5" X 11")

OK to exit Advanced >

tab Printing Shortcut:

Now that the settings are complete, if you like, click "Save As" > give the new shortcut a name

Apply to set-in-place

OK to exit Printing Preferences (Properties)

If you wish to test the setup before you print on label paper, go back into Properties > change to Plain Paper > OK to exit printer menu > Print

Print the test on plain paper

If OK, go Back through Properties > change to Brochure paper

Load Brochure (presentation) paper and print the labels.

Most else of what I know about labels, cards, business cards, and booklet printing is in the Dragon document (Printing Labels_Business-Cards_Cards).

If I have anything else to offer, I will post back.

Good Luck!
