watching HP & Microsoft instructional videos, I either get no sound or no picture, I uninstalled and reinstalled flash so many times, I have both 32 and 64 bit because I have a 64 bit, so no idea what is going on. The Smilebox I made today and sent played music ok, but HP daily Surprise will not work, It is more than likely flash
but seeing as I have uninstalled it so many times and reinstalled it I am not sure what to do. I tend to learn quite a bit from watching the instructional videos.
Bet your hat looks great!

Two things you can try. First, try a different browser (like Chrome or Firefox) to see if it works there. Second, clear your cached cookies and saved data on your current browser to see if that works. If it does not the video may be corrupted and will have to be fixed by a web administrator later.

PS the hat is awesome! It is by far my favourite souvenir from France and (considering the age and the fit) a truly serendipitous find!

Are you using a spell checker,
I would have no idea how to spell that, tried Chrome and same thing, cleared cache & cookies, I have it checked off to clear every time I close my browser, and with Chrome I alway's do that
when I log out, not tried firefox so perhaps it is the web administrator.

I was a writing major in college and my mother is a librarian so words have always been very interesting to me. I have a verbose vocabulary with a variety of vernacular varying with vivid and vivacious words! 😛
I would test to see if it is the browser you are using. I know that there are some things (especially for corporate sites) that I have to use Internet Explorer (which I am loath to do otherwise).

Well good for you:womantongue: at my age I forget everything from when I was young, except of course the dateing:womanwink:, I got a degree in psychology. But long since retired.
Why do you dislike internet explorer,? I have always used it and had no problems?.

I do my best to get as many experiences out of my youth as possible. I always enjoyed psychology, but I never really made a foray into it in college.
Personally, IE just doesn't have the customization and tools that I enjoy. Google Chrome is simple and elegant and has a few features that I use on a regular basis that I have to delve into IE to enable.
Where you able to try another browser, by the way?

Enjoy your youth and gain as many experiences as you can along the way, its the only way to enjoy life, I took religious education in high school, no not a nut on it, but did enjoy it, as for choosing to be a psychologist I burned out after 20 years of dealing with the mentally ill, wish I had chosen something different. Now I have MS and cannot do a whole lot, so enjoy life while you are young because you never know what life has in store for you.
yes I tried Google Chrome but for the little I do on the computer I only need something simple and IE does the trick for me.
Now I just use it to send cards and craft projects to my grandkids, my sons did not get married or find a partner I should say until they were in there forties so the grandkids are still pretty young.
I would imagine that after spending all day helping people with there computer problems you would get sick of computers, so you are so sweet to help us all out on here.
I am a total idiot with computers, only know the basics but when something goes wrong I'm really stuck.
Some people on here know a lot but treat people like me as uneducated idiots so its nice to be treated in a decent manner, I did get the problem sorted out now just trying to get HP daily surprise to work, I make crafts for the grandkids with it, have yourself a good day.

I have too many fascinations with things. If i were to choose something I enjoy, I would have to go with art. My partner tells me that I should go ahead and go for it while I am young, and the more I think about it the more I think I should. I am sure that you did good work with your life, and it sounds like you have a good legacy - grandkids always have a way of revitalizing the soul. At least that was what my grandma always said about us grandkids.
Honestly, I do get a little tired of it some days, but talking to customers like yourself where I can see that I am having an impact (or at least a conversation) puts me back in the spirit. So, thank YOU for that. Really, I get a lot out of helping people out and doing what I can to make others lives easier.
I am glad you are back up and printing, and I hope you have a wonderful day! Thank you for all the support and the conversation!

Dear Spencer (and forgive me if Spencer is no longer replying to this forum),
I have run through the full list of troubleshootong and configuration steps listed in the forum, and still cannot get my printer to enable web services.
First, a list of the hardware:
Printer: HP LaserJet CM1415fnw; connected to the home network wirelessly, with a fixed IP address outside the DNS assignment range; firmware date code:20120629 (latest posted on HP site).
Router: ASUS RT-N12B1; firewall on; ports 80, 443, 5222 and 5223 are port-forwared for the printer IP address (I've tried enabling web services with the firewall off, but to no avail).
Modem: WindRiver DSL with ethernet connection to the router. DSL service is through CenturyLink.
All computers at home can print to the printer and can access the internet, and my Android tablet, through the ePrint app, can also print to the printer while the tablet is connected to the home network.
However, regardless if I launch the "enable web services" from the Enbedded Web Server or from the printer's control screen, I consistantly get a "Connection error. Check internet connection" message.
I would appreciate any guidance you might be able to offer.
Your grandma is correct and so is your partner, go for it.
