When I create a document on Word and try to print it the printed version doesn't have the header space at the top. I can't even trick it by adding spaces at the top of the document. The Document loos fine when viewed in word, but the printed version isn't what I'm seeing on screen.

More places to double-check your setup:
1. This can happen if there is an error / misconfiguration
File > Options > Advanced > Scroll to Section Print
CHECK Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11 " paper sizes
(If it is set one way, try the other, that is "UNCHECK")
NOTE: This sort of misconfiguration more likely results in the bottom of the document being cut off. If the setting makes no difference in your situation, ignore the advice.
2. This can happen when your header and footer areas on the document do not match the printer (Page Setup) or document print margins.
3. This can also happen if you have everything set as you like and the setting(s) violate the printer absolute minimum for one or more margins.
For example,
- Set Margins for "Narrow" (0.5 inches each side)
- Header / Footer margins have been edited to .3 inches (top and / or bottom of page)
Result:
Document may print with header / footer chopped off at the margin setting.
Adjust: Set the margins, footer / header, and print area to the matching settings to print the document.
This means:
- Extend the print area (reduce the print margins to .3 or less)
or
- Increase the space between the header / footer and the edge of the page
Be Aware: The margins / printable area you set for print must be inside the absolute margin restrictions for the printer.
For example:
Set the margins / header / footer to .3 inches >> the printer MUST be able to accomodate the change / setting. Some printers require a bottom margin of .5 inches as the abosolute minimum. There is no method to "get around" the printer margin minimum.
