Product: HP Photosmart 6520
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I just changed the black ink cartridge on my HP Photosmart 6520, as I have done several times before.  However, this time the black ink does not print.  I also changed the other 3 ink colors and they work fine.  My printer is qbout 2 years old; I purchased it when I had a similar problem with an HP Photosmart 5520.  What can I do to get the black ink to print?  This appears to be some sort of recurring issue with this series of HP printers!

If the printer is working before and wont work after changing the ink cartridge, there must be something wrong with the cartridge.

 

For us to determine that, try this.

 

Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print in Black or Color Ink

After posting this problem, I searched on-line and found a couple of videos describing how to clean the print heads with slightly soapy water.  After this treatment, my HP6520 printed the black ink just fine.  I then decided to try the same solution on the HP5520 I still had (using as a scanner on another terminal).  That printer now prints the black ink well.  I heartily recommend anyone with this issue watch "How to fix a HP Printer, not printing black ink and missing colours 5510 5515 5520 5524 3070A 364" video by Marcin Blaczkowski on You Tube.  Simple solution and it worked for me!
