When my LaserJet Pro M201dw is in standby or power-saving or whatever you call it mode, the white light in the power button blinks slowly. This is annoying when the room is dark and you are watching video or something. Is there a way to have the machine stay dark?

Good day @wrecksx,
This is a great place to visit for Community and HP support! I see that the power light blinks when in stand bye mode and you want to know how to stop it. I would like to help.
This is a feature of the printer when in standby mode the power light will blink to notify that the printer is in standby mode. When touching the display the power light goes back to a solid light. There isn't any way of changing this feature.
The printer would need to be turned off, unfortunately.

Turning the printer off is not a "solution." It's a work-around. And it means the printer will probably not be on when you want to print to it, which negates the whole point of having a sleep mode. Why is HP engineering so set against giving its users the option to turn off this "feature" (so to speak)? And why didn't they use something like a dim blue light instead of the OBNOXIOUS bright white light?
And why can't HP Reps understand that responding with words to the effect that "this is normal" is completely missing the point? It's the abnormal HP "normal" that is the problem.
