Regardless where I set the margins, the bottom border does not print when using inkjet printers. I use simple shaded or double-lined borders, no fancy borders.

Every inkjet printer that I use causes the same problem. Right now, I have the HP Photosmart C3180 printer. I've previously had several other HP inkjets/officejets.

You can add the HP Photosmart C3180 printer to your list. :generic:

Okay, well thanks anyway HP.  We got fed up enough with this problem today that we re-outfitted our office with Brother MFC-5890CN printers.  I haven't waited as long as some other folks around here, but we could not wait any longer for you to do something about it.  I chalk it up to a very expensive learning experience and will certainly keep the name of HP in my mind when we have to renew our computers (to not buy any).

The administrator got after you "ranting"? Is the administrator an HP person? Administrator, please contact me. I have a true rant to give you.

I am a former systems development executive and I can't believe that anyone with any product responsibility at HP even knows about these problems. If they do they should be sacked immedidately. This is the worst case of customer neglect I have ever seen.

Administrator, contact me please and let's work out how to get this information to someone at HP that actually cares about customer service.

This issue (bottom border not printing) has been a very long-time problem with HP InkJet printers (the only kind that I have purchased). I just assumed ALL inkjet printers had this issue.

Another issue (unrelated) is the fact that they do not support printers (nor update printer drivers) after a few years. We have a great-working LaserJet 1012 printer, but my husband just bought a new computer that has Vista on it (and will upgrade to Windows 7). The upgraded printer driver for Vista doesn't work well, and they have announced that they will not be supporting--or creating a printer driver supported by Windows 7. Now, we end up with a perfect working printer that will be obsolete. This really upsets us!

Word 2007 is not the problem. I've had this problem (bottom border does not print) for YEARS (using WordPerfect, and all versions of Word). It does this with all HP InkJets that I've used. It works fine when using a LaserJet.

Hi Guy,

I think that F 2180 have a hardware margin(around 15 mm) of the print out in bottom.

Hello,

Do you try add a printer driver of HP Deskjet 5700 series?

Well HP, we bought all new Brother MFC-5890CN printers for our offices and I just have to tell you, they all print the bottom margin of the pages without needing to fiddle with page type or margins.  It's quite obvious to me that this is a printer driver situation, and one that you think a work around is going to fix which it doesn't.  Sure, I'll be able to resell those new HP printers and get back some of my money, but you've lost a customer you could have kept for life by ignoring this situation.

Just thought you should know.
