Hello darboyk2,

Please try the below steps that should resolve the issue.

- While the printer is ON, remove the ink cartridges.

- While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from back of the printer.

- Shut down the computer.

- Power Off the Wireless Router.

- Wait for 60 seconds.

- Plug in the power cord to the printer. Printer should power ON automatically else press the ON button to do so.

- Install ink cartridges only when the printer prompts you to do so.

- make copy ( black / color )

- Now power on the Router and the computer.

Jabzi

The ink cartridges are over too far to the right. I can't get them out.

Hello,

It seems to be a Carriage Jam issue.

Please try the below steps.

Make sure the printer is ON. Reach into the cartridge access area, and then manually move the carriage.
If the carriage is stuck on the right side of the printer, move the carriage to the left side of the printer.
If the carriage is stuck on the left side of the printer, move the carriage to the right side of the printer.
If the carriage is stuck in the middle of the printer, move the carriage to the right side of the printer.

If the issue still exists, check for the paper pieces near the carriage area. Also tilt the printer side ways, pull the input tray out. Check if there is any paper stuck in there.

If the carriage does not move manually, its time to SERVICE the printer. Hence you may have to call HP Tech Support for further assistance.

Jabzi

Hi,

Yes. I finally got it to move from right to left by tilting printer on its left side and gently pulled the cartridges down and then returned to right side again.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I had to tilt my printer on its left side as well, just as Donnab500 described. The printer cartridges then finally moved. I was able to get my printer back online.
