I'm unable to use the device menus. Please send me the instructions on how to do a hard/factory reset for the CP1525NW? Thank you.

Hi @Gemini02

Also looking for the CP1525nw reset procedure since the buttons are no longer operational while the 49 Error is showing. After a ~1/2min I'm able to press the keys like twice but not enough time to get to factory reset.

Look forward to hearing from you. Will check my PM soon.

Thanks in advance!

I need the reset instructions as well. My CP1525nw is continously cycling between intialization and error 49.

I sure miss my old Laserjet 4.  That printer was a workhorse that lasted a long time.  I use to work for HP some time ago.  We had PCDO move onto our site from their old San Jose site.  Back then, they had a trailer full of printers stolen brazenly.  Some gang came in with a tractor and hooked it up and took off.  That site was called the McLaughlin site and was not a very good area of San Jose, still is not.

PCDO was the HP operation responsible for warehousing and distributing HP's PC, printers, and other computer products.  If you called HP supplies to order cartridges, etc., you called them back then.

Okay, figured out the how to reset to factory defaults and went through the language and location settings and the printer came up fine.  Also found another button power-on combination that brought up a message "BootDIMM ready" or something similar.

Interesting, but this is really stupid of HP to have this policy of secretcy as there are few buttons and only so many combinations.

When I configured the wireless access for SSID and password, the error 49 started to appear all over again.  I noticed the issue maybe between the 1525nw printer and either Aerohive AP330 or AP230 access points.  I did not check which, but it is likely the AP230 which is an 802.11ac access point that I have band steering enabled.

This is was the change I made recently by installing Aerohive APs when I started to see the error 49 messages.  I am going to reset to factory defaults again and configure the wireless to use the UVerse broadband modem again, and see.

Printing fine and no "error 49" when using the older Uverse broadband model with 802.11n.  So, it's very likely some issue between the printer and the AP230.
